November 17th the car left us in the middle of nowhere. Fabio, Gerardo's best friend took a bus and met us in Nicaragua. He helped set up the homestead (tent) and then took the car back to Costa Rica. One would logically ask why we didn't keep the car. That would have been good but Nicaragua doesn't allow cars older than 7 years to stay in the country. So back it went.
This was the first day of no house, no restroom, no shower, no kitchen, no phone, no car and no internet!
All we had for almost a month was a tent and a hose! We were definitely crazy.
